Writing an address in English is not difficult. To start, you’ll need to write the recipient’s name in the top left corner of the envelope. Then, write the street address on the next line. Make sure you include the house number and the street name. If there is an apartment or unit number, include it after the street name. For example, you could write:

John Smith
1234 Main Street
Apt. 5

Next, you’ll need to write the city, state, and zip code on the last line. The city should be written in full, and the two-letter state abbreviation should be followed by the five-digit zip code. For example:

Santa Monica, CA 90401

If you are shipping something internationally, you’ll have to include the country name. For example:

John Smith
1234 Main Street
Apt. 5
Santa Monica, CA 90401
United States of America
